Description

These units may show signs of heavy wear but are in good working condition. The Sierra Video Aspen 7272HD-3G Routing Switcher is a compact SDI video router designed for facilities that need reliable signal distribution across SD, HD, and 3G workflows. It supports SDI video standards including SMPTE 259M-C, HD SMPTE 292M, and 3G SMPTE 424M, and it can also route DVB-ASI signals, making it a practical fit for broadcast, production, and distribution environments that handle mixed signal types. Signal Standards and Performance With a maximum data rate of 2.97 Gbps, the Aspen 7272HD-3G supports multi-standard operation including SDI (SMPTE 259M and SMPTE 344M), HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M), 3G HD-SDI (SMPTE 424M), and dual link HD-SDI (SMPTE 372M). A specified system range of 500 ft (155 m) at maximum data rate helps maintain signal integrity across longer cable runs in racks, machine rooms, and studio installs. Re-Clocking, Equalization, and Sync Per-input equalization helps compensate for cable loss, and per-input re-clocking provides five modes (auto, bypass, 3G HD-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD) so you can tune performance to your signal path and format. The router also includes a looping sync input that supports composite or tri-sync, supporting stable timing in SD and HD environments. Control Options and Network Integration For local operation, the unit includes a control panel with multi-color I/O and function buttons for clear status feedback. For integration into facility control and automation, it provides RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, and Ethernet connectivity. The rear-panel RJ-45 supports TCP/IP, and the router can be controlled via a web browser or with TyLinx Pro Router Control Software. Physical Specifications Dimensions are 7.0 in (178 mm) x 19 in (483 mm) x 2.5 in (64 mm) and weight is 7 lb (3.2 kg), supporting straightforward rack installation where space and power efficiency matter.
