Used Indoor Architectural Lighting

Indoor architectural lighting is seen by its proponents as something of an art, as well as a science. Also called architectural lighting design, indoor architectural lighting is about carefully balancing the requirements of light in a building with the buildingâ??s aesthetics, and also the cost and energy efficiency of the indoor architectural lighting system. For example, in indoor hotel lighting or indoor museum lighting, itâ??s possible to analyze how much daylight the internal spaces of the building receive, using something called the Daylight Factor to calculate this. These calculations can be based on tabular data in smaller, simpler buildings, and then applied to its indoor architectural lighting design. However, if a specialist indoor architectural lighting design is required for indoor building lighting, then itâ??s better to use software programs or mathematical models to calculate the optimum amount of light that will be needed for the most aesthetically pleasing effect. Many types of lighting equipment can be used in indoor architectural lighting. One of the newest, but still not widespread is indoor LED lighting, which is slowly gaining popularity for its low cost and high energy efficiency. For now, LED lighting is not standard in indoor architectural lighting, as more conventional lighting systems are preferred. Indoor architectural lighting is often unique to each building, as a buildings furniture and the color of its walls and ceilings (and the materials) all effect the lighting. Rooms with walls and ceilings that are painted in dark colors, or have dark colored wall paper, seem to absorb the light more readily than light colored rooms, and so the light in the room will appear dimmer than it actually is. It also has the effect of making the room looks smaller in some circumstances. Indoor architectural lighting designers also need to take care of certain reflective surfaces in a room, such as its furnishings, which can cause undesired glare if they are too reflective.
