A dimmer rack module is a small device that is used in professional lighting to adjust the brightness of a light fixture. It works by altering the voltage of electricity that is delivered to the lamp. When the dimmer rack module reduces this power, the brightness of the lamp will fade down (become dimmer). Alternatively, if the dimmer rack module increased the power, the lamp will fade up (become brighter). Interestingly enough, a dimmer rack module allows for minor color control as well.
Although large dimmer racks are sometimes used, these are often replaced with a dimmer rack module, which is smaller and contains a 20 to 50 ampere breaker. The advantage of a dimmer rack module is that it can also supply current to other devices, such as foggers and hazers, or lifting equipment. This is important as these other devices can be damaged if you fail to use a dimmer rack module on non-dimming electrical devices. The circuit to which a dimmer rack module is connected to will be constantly energized, thus protecting these other devices. Even in cases where it is thought that a regular dimmer rack will always be operating at full power, it can be dangerous for non-dimming devices due to interruptions in the data stream caused by DMX signals and noise interference, which would lead to the dimmer dimming the circuit.
Unison D, AD, and ED Series Dimmers are specifically designed for use in the Unison DR Series Racks. These dimmers, like those used in the ETC Sensor Racks are heavy-duty, high-grade commercial dimmers. Variety is key: Unison dimmers are available fo...

The TS Dimmers - designed and manufactured in Melbourne, Australia by L.S.C. Electronics Pty. Ltd. - provides either 12 channels of 10 or 12 Amp or 6 channels of 20 or 25 Amps. Each channel is protected by a fast acting MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker...
The Fusion 2000 WM is a professional dimmer for use in theatre and in the studio. It comprises 12 individually controllable channels, each of which can be loaded with 3000 watts of resistive or inductive load in continuous operation. The load current...
SineWave Power Modules are the secret of effective distributed dimming. A perfect example of quiet power, the new Power Module doesn't interfere with acoustics and is suitable for distributed applications where the dimmer is located at or near the lo...
The Sensor + SineWave Dimmer Module dims any load: resistive, inductive or capacitive. SineWave dimmers are even able to dim most ballasted loads such as HMI fixtures and low-wattage loads like LED's. The design features high-density modular assembly...
The Sensor+ Control Electronics Module (CEM+) receives and manages Ethernet control signals as well as two DMX512 inputs. It controls dimmer output, and communicates feedback information to compatible lighting control devices and network peripherals.
