Obsession II DPS

The processor is the brains of your lighting control console. With Obsession II Dual Processor, you get lighting control genius. Processing power, speed and flexibility are a must, so Obsession II offers you a variety of channel counts - 750, 1536, or 4608 - to match the unique needs of your Venue. With professional time and patience as top priorities, Obsession II?s processing speed frees the user to spend critical rehearsal time on lighting, not on waiting.

Obsession II's processors feature direct connectivity for DMX, MIDI, SMPTE, and other peripherals. Ethernet is standard on all Obsession II systems. Display crucial information from your main console's Monitors at remote video locations. And when you want to upgrade your networking, ETCNet2 offers more features and over 32,000 DMX channels for greater lighting control sophistication. Input or output DMX wherever you need to, controlling more DMX devices, more easily, throughout your entertainment Venue.

Full Tracking Backup - Obsession II's Dual Processor System goes a step beyond to give you not one but two sets of brains for ultimate lighting control security. With Full Tracking Backup, the secondary processor takes over seamlessly if a problem occurs in the primary processor. The Dual Processor System also gives you a built-in Ethernet hub for increased networking distribution and control over more remote devices now or in the future. Obsession II's built-in DMX switcher automatically switches DMX from your primary to your secondary processor when necessary.

Electronic Theatre Controls

Since its founding by Fred Foster in 1975, ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.) has become a global leader in award-winning entertainment and architectural lighting equipment. ETC's fixtures, lighting control consoles, dimmers and distribution products are the backbone of lighting systems in venues worldwide - from schools and churches, to community theaters and TV studios, to opera houses and theme parks. Over the first decade of its history, ETC earned a reputation for sophisticated microprocessor-based lighting control consoles. By 1990, ETC had acquired Lighting Methods, Inc., a Rochester, New York-based manufacturer of entertainment dimming systems. ETC quickly became one of the largest fully-integrated entertainment lighting control manufacturers in North America, with offices in Middleton, WI; Orlando, FL; Rochester, NY; and Hollywood, CA. The next phase of growth began in 1995, when ETC acquired the lighting control division of London-based distributor ARRI GB. That same year, ETC opened an office in Hong Kong, extending its expansion into Asia. In 1997, ETC opened an office in Copenhagen, Denmark, to serve the Northern European market, and a year later opened an office in Rome, allowing greater access to Southern Europe. ETC acquired Transtechnik Lichtsysteme, Holzkirchen, Germany in 2002, widening ETC's market potential in Europe. Continuing its growth, ETC took an equity position in Avab France in 2003. In 2004, ETC acquired Dutch sine wave dimming manufacturer IES and its industrial weighing and measuring division Penko Engineering BV, both located in Veenendaal, the Netherlands. Beginning March 31, 2005, all formerly separate operations of ETC in Europe joined under the common corporate banner of ETC. ETC's new international headquarters, located in Middleton, WI (near the state capital Madison) serve as hub of global administration and manufacturing. Through the years, ETC has gained an industry-wide reputation for outstanding service and customer support. ETC not only maintains in-house, 24-hour Technical and Customer Service staffs, but an extensive network of factory-trained, authorized field service centers.

Used Lighting Console Accessories

Lighting console accessories are components of an electronic mechanism that is used to manipulate and direct multiple lights simultaneously. This device is called the lighting control console, otherwise known as the light or lighting board or lighting desk. Mostly utilized for theatrical entertainment industry purposes, the device is normally located inside a control booth or at the immediate front of the performing or stage area. Commonly, lighting consoles consist of a number of lighting console accessories. Lighting consoles should be housed in solid and sturdy lighting console cases which must ably carry the setup while providing security against sudden impact, and form a shell-like barrier against moisture or humidity, abrupt temperature changes, etc. Lighting console lights are ideally LED and intelligent lights, which means that their empirical attributes must be readily tractable into the abstract user interface. These lighting desk lights are probably one of the most vital lighting console accessories and must therefore prove to be of superior quality. Another important accessory is the DMX cables with in-connectors having multi-hole female and multi-pin male ends. The female end normally encapsulates three cables: a black cable, a white cable and a bare cable. These cable types have electrical characteristics with specific impedance and capacitance ratings. They work in conjunction with digital multiplexes or the electronic control protocol for stage lighting and lighting effects. Ethernet lighting cables are a unit of lighting console accessories which must be able to deliver sufficient power to lighting fixtures. More expensive gauge wiring for these lighting control accessories enable them to run longer, from a conservative 200 feet to a more expansive 100 meters.
