Light System Manager 1.6

Light System Manager 1.6 is an integrated software/hardware Solution engineered to cost effectively enable large-scale and intricately designed installations that exceed the limitations of today's lighting programming and network protocols. From stage, to themed environments, to architectural applications, Light System Manager facilitates the management, authoring, and control of show effects that span multiple DMX universes and scale to tens of thousands of individually controlled LED-based nodes.

Light System Manager combines an intuitive graphical user interface with a powerful hardware engine that simplifies the storage and triggering of light show effects across elaborate, multi-unit installations - all while enabling fine-grained control to extend the aesthetic capabilities of LEDs far beyond what was previously possible. Light System Manager is comprised of two components; Light System Composer and Light System Engine.

Light System Composer is a software application that dramatically reduces the time and guesswork involved in designing intricate and previously unattainable effects, including color-changing swirls, bursts, logos, random star field, and complex animated effects. Light System Composer 1.6 is the latest release of the software, enhancing its predecessor Light System Composer 1.0 with the following new features:

* Importing Enhancements: Ability to import a still image
* Image Scroll: Scroll a still image up, down, left, right, diagonally
* Ethernet Keypad Support: Ability to connect multiple keypads to one installation
* iColor Module Support: Map wizard to simplify the map layout
* Orientation Options: Rotate maps clockwise and counter clockwise
* New Graphical Interface: Supports third-party hardware for DMX triggering

Light System Engine is an Ethernet-based hardware controller that stores and plays a large quantity of light show effects based on time of day and event scheduling.

Color Kinetics

Color Kinetics Incorporated (Nasdaq: CLRK) is a pioneer in the design, marketing and licensing of intelligent solid-state lighting systems. The company's award-winning product lines combine the increasing advantages of LEDs as a light source with its patented digital control technology for use in wide-ranging applications. Its flagship technologies leverage a patented layer of digital intelligence, called Chromacore®, to generate and control millions of colors and dynamic lighting effects. Color Kinetics operates in two principal lines of business: Lighting Systems, including solid-state lighting devices, digital controllers and software for use in high-performance lighting projects; and OEM & Licensing, including a standard line of intelligent solid-state lighting modules that can be readily incorporated by other manufacturers. Color Kinetics also licenses its technology both within and beyond the lighting industry. Color Kinetics' intelligent solid-state lighting systems illuminate the exteriors of signature office buildings, add visual impact to the interiors of retail stores and residences, provide entertaining lighting effects that help attract patrons to hospitality venues, and supply versatile, high-performance lighting for television and stage sets. The company's systems have been installed in thousands of user sites around the world, including Brookstone,Carnival Cruise Lines, Cathay Financial Center, Hairspray on Broadway, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Harrah's, Marriott, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York State Bridge Authority, NBA Entertainment, Nortel Networks, Northwest Airlines, Rainforest Café, Royal Caribbean International, Wheel of Fortune and Wynn Las Vegas. Color Kinetics' intellectual property applies to many aspects of solid-state lighting technology, ranging from methods for digital control of lighting, to production techniques, to the application of solid-state lighting innovations in many specific markets.

Used LED Control

An LED control consists of operating the light board and lighting desk. This electronic apparatus is used at events, theatre performances, festivals and other spectacular concerts to control several lights at the same time from a booth. Without the LED control console the entertainment industry from around the world would be a whole lot different. Using the RGB controller allows lighting technicians and directors to dim lights and intensify lights on stage with ease. Many lighting systems also can change colors, create patterns and even control fog and other special effects. LED control systems differ in intricacy and size. A LED control system uses a special electronic control protocol to communicate with all the devices such as dimmers. Big complex shows mostly utilize the MIDI Show Control signals to communicate with the LED console. For simple smaller shows, a preset boards is typically used. This LED control system generally uses scenes or fader banks to provide basic lighting. The scenes and dimmers can be controlled manually. Console operators must pay attention to cues to provide lighting at the appropriate time. The most often used LED console currently used is the DMX512. A lot of lighting consoles nowadays, also use the Remote Focus Unit (RFU) to control the light board while moving around. It is typically small enough to be held in a users hand, so that they can be backstage at a show and still control the lights and not in a booth.
