A remote control such as a DMX Remote Control App is an interface used by stage lighting technicians that hooks up to their ETC console and allows them to operate the console from a remote location. It’s a highly practical application as it means technicians can focus stage lighting remotely, rather than physically moving the console or dash from place to place. A standard DMX Remote Control App is a smallish box that can be carried around on a 50 inch cable, and allows technicians to access dimmers, channels, cues, groups etc, all away from the main console. It’s possible to make macros for the Remote Focus Unit so that technicians can record, patch cues and carry out many other applications as well. However, it is necessary that the remote control is attached to the console via a cable, which should be connected via the RFU jack in the back of this unit.
