The KARA modular line source element has an operating frequency bandwidth from 55 Hz to 20 kHz. This response can be lowered down to 32 Hz with the addition of the SB18 low frequency extension.
KARA features a 2-way, bi-Amplified Design and is equipped with 2 x 8 inch neodymium LF speakers in a bass-reflex tuned enclosure. The HF section features a 3 inch neodymium diaphragm driver coupled to a DOSC waveguide. The K-shaped coPlanar transducer configuration generates a symmetric horizontal cover...

Kara Line Array Speakers
...ric horizontal coverage of 110 degree without secondary lobes over the entire frequency range. The combination of coPlanar symmetry and DOSC waveguide allows the system to fulfil the 5 WST criteria. Any KARA line source can be curved up to a maximum of 10 degree for each element without breaking the inter-element acoustic coupling. The KARA enclosure is made of first grade Baltic birch plywood to ensure maximum acoustical and mechanical integrity. The 4 point rigging system allows suspending up to 24 KARA in a single array. The KARA system is driven by the dedicated LA8 amplified controller which ensures active system linearization, intelligent transducer protection, and optimization for 3 operating modes: The FULL RANGE mode for standalone Line Source arrays or distributed applications. The HIGH-PASS mode for fills or for KARA as a K1 downfill. The LOW EXTENSION mode for KARA/SB18 configurations. The performance of KARA depends upon the choice of electronic preset and physical system configuration.L-Acoustics Line Array Speakers

Line Array Speakers
Line array speakers make up a loudspeaker system to create a sound source that produces an evenly distributed sound output. The driver of each line array element is close enough to the driver of the next element to create constructive interference. The resulting sound waves go farther than sound waves from traditional loudspeakers. Line array systems date back to the early days of research in acoustics. Many old town halls and public venues still have old line source boxes which were found to project voice well though they are much smaller than horn-loaded speakers. These days, line array speakers use different drivers for high-, mid- and low-frequency passbands that must be in line. Each enclosure must be set up closely to form columns composed of these drivers. To increase the frequency range and maximum sound pressure, the number of drivers per enclosure must be increased. The orientation of line array speakers may vary. Vertical arrays are excellent for focusing sound at audiences without wasting output energy on ceilings or empty air above the audience because of its very narrow vertical output with a normally-wide horizontal pattern. On the other hand, horizontal line arrays have a very narrow horizontal output with a tall vertical pattern. For hanging concert speakers which are usually part of a concert reinforcement system, enclosures are set up together using a specialized rigging hardware and they hang from a single point. These line array speakers are curved backward at the lower portion so that the sound will reach more audience. Used Kara For Sale
