Abstract AVR Indoor Architectural Lighting

White Noise - A random audio signal with a flat power spectral density that contains noise at the same level at all frequencies. The signal's spectral density has equal power in any band and at any frequency in a . Used . given bandwidth. White noise is similar to white light which contains all frequencies. White noise is often used in the field of architectural acoustics to mask distracting or undesirable n. Used . oises in interior spaces....

Towers - Towers are truss like structures used to support roofs and other trussing systems.. Used . . Used . ...

Fresnel - Fresnels are typically 8-, 6- or 4-inch, referring to the diameter of the lens. This light is named after Augustin-Jean Fresnel who invented the distinctive Fresnel lens which has a 'stepped' appearan. Used . ce instead of the 'full' or 'smooth' appearance of other lenses. The stepped nature of the lens causes a corresponding pattern of circles of light, so Fresnel lenses are usually 'stippled' on. Used . the flat side. This pattern of small bumps helps to break up the light passing into the lens to smooth out its eventual pattern.

Fresnels use a spherical reflector, with the filament of the bulb ...

Address - In computer science, a memory address is a unique identifier for a memory location at which a CPU or other device can store a piece of data for later retrieval. In modern byte-addressable computers, e. Used . ach address identifies a single byte of storage; data too large to be stored in a single byte may reside in multiple bytes occupying a sequence of consecutive addresses. Some microprocessors . Used . were designed to be word-addressable, so that the typical storage unit was actually larger than a byte. Examples include the Texas Instruments TMS9900 and the National Semiconductor IMP-16, both of which used ...

Lens - A lens is a device for either concentrating or diverging light, usually formed from a piece of shaped glass. Analogous devices used with other types of electromagnetic radiation are also called lense. Used . s: for instance, a microwave lens can be made from paraffin wax.

The earliest records of lenses date to Ancient Greece, with Aristophanes' play The Clouds (424 BC) mentioning a b. Used . urning-glass (a convex lens used to focus the sun's rays to produce fire). The writings of Pliny the Elder (23-79) also show that burning-glasses were known to the Roman Empire, and mentions what is possibly t

Indoor Architectural Lighting

Indoor architectural lighting is seen by its proponents as something of an art, as well as a science. Also called architectural lighting design, indoor architectural lighting is about carefully balancing the requirements of light in a building with the building’s aesthetics, and also the cost and energy efficiency of the indoor architectural lighting system. For example, in indoor hotel lighting or indoor museum lighting, it’s possible to analyze how much daylight the internal spaces of the building receive, using something called the Daylight Factor to calculate this. These calculations can be based on tabular data in smaller, simpler buildings, and then applied to its indoor architectural lighting design. However, if a specialist indoor architectural lighting design is required for indoor building lighting, then it’s better to use software programs or mathematical models to calculate the optimum amount of light that will be needed for the most aesthetically pleasing effect. Many types of lighting equipment can be used in indoor architectural lighting. One of the newest, but still not widespread is indoor LED lighting, which is slowly gaining popularity for its low cost and high energy efficiency. For now, LED lighting is not standard in indoor architectural lighting, as more conventional lighting systems are preferred. Indoor architectural lighting is often unique to each building, as a buildings furniture and the color of its walls and ceilings (and the materials) all effect the lighting. Rooms with walls and ceilings that are painted in dark colors, or have dark colored wall paper, seem to absorb the light more readily than light colored rooms, and so the light in the room will appear dimmer than it actually is. It also has the effect of making the room looks smaller in some circumstances. Indoor architectural lighting designers also need to take care of certain reflective surfaces in a room, such as its furnishings, which can cause undesired glare if they are too reflective.
